Realise Your Vision

Glamping sites are all the rage right now. According to reports published by Grand View Research, the global glamping market was worth approximately 1.88 billion USD in 2020, and experts predict that it’ll keep expanding at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 14.1% until 2028.

In other words, there’s never been a better time to set up your own glamping site. But starting a successful glamping business isn’t easy.

Before You Get Started

  • Compile a planning application
  • Purchase glamping pods
  • Promote your business
  • Understand industry trends
You'll need to know how to compile a persuasive planning application; where to find and purchase glamping pods, when to start marketing your business and how to set up your own glamping website.

You’ll also need to know what customers expect from a modern glamping site. Glamping is an inherently trend-based industry, and you’ll need to stay abreast of growing demand for mod-cons like fire pits, hot tubs, WiFi and underfloor heating.

To help you get the ball rolling, we run a 2 hour academy course – designed to equip you with the in-depth knowledge needed to start and run a successful glamping business.

Delivered to small groups of prospective glamping site owners, this structured course covers everything from feasibility studies to social media marketing.

The Syllabus

You’ll find out how to identify your site’s USPs, draw up a persuasive planning application and plot out a marketing strategy for your new business.

We’ll also teach you how to take care of the fine detail so integral to the success of a new site, and you’ll benefit from direct access to industry experts who’ve set up and run award-winning glamping sites in Scotland, England and Europe.

The course last for 2 hours and covers four main topics:

Part 1

Glamping 101

  • Informal introduction
  • Information gathering to tailor future sessions
  • Our experience of setting up a glamping site

Designed to give you a brief overview of the glamping industry, and gather the information needed to tailor the rest of this course to your needs.

We run this session as an informal introduction. You’ll get to tell us a bit about your site and aspirations, we’ll tell you a bit about our own experience and then we’ll chat about what you do or don’t know about running a glamping business – so that we can make sure we cover any common pain points in parts 2-4.

Part 2

Planning Permission

  • Pre- and full planning applications explained
  • Documentation requirements
  • How to maximise your chances of success

Planning permission is a common sticking point – many prospective site owners are confused about things like the difference between pre- and full planning applications, the documentation needed to support an application and the ins and outs of the planning process

That’s why the second part of our academy course is dedicated to all things planning. You’ll learn what sort of planning permission you need to set up your site, and how to maximise your chances of success

Part 3

Marketing Your Site

  • Cost-effective marketing ideas
  • Using social media
  • Leveraging your website

The internet’s a noisy place, and the glamping industry is getting a lot of buzz right now so it’s fair to say that new site owners should expect some pretty stiff competition.

Luckily, there is a solution. Clever marketing allows you to get in front of prospective visitors and scale your business without a lot of outlay, which is why part 3 of our academy source is dedicated to using social media and your site website to publicise your business.

Part 4

Feasibility Studies

  • Why you need a feasibility study
  • What it covers
  • How to take this important next step

A feasibility study is the foundation that your glamping site will be built on. It’s an in-depth report that covers everything from local competition to expected nightly revenues and it’s one of the most important parts of planning your new site.

That’s why we dedicate the fourth and final segment of our academy course to explaining what goes into a feasibility study – and why it’s your next logical step towards setting up your new business.

Still Need Land?

For prospective business owners who still need to buy land for their glamping site, we run a separate land buying academy course that explains how to spot and purchase the right plot of land for your business.

Based on your answers to the application form, we’ll slot you straight onto the land buying academy course if we think it’s a good fit for you.

Alternatively, you can just opt for the land buying academy course on the application form.
